The Flexibulle
association is a collective created in 2001 in
Paris by a group of partygoers who met at the Plages
Sonores in France. It brings together DJs, VJs,
Decorators, Stage Designers, Graphic Artists, Video
Artists, Directors, Editors, Composers and Landscape
Architects… who share a passion for electronic
music and parties. .
Always ready to party all night and greet the dawn,
this Monty Pythonesque group of enthusiasts regularly
organizes events in various sites of the capital
(Le Batofar, Le Limelight, Le Nouveau Casino, La
Mezzanine de l’Alcazar, the Mini-Club of La
Suite, La Loco, La Fabrique, Kong and other unique
spaces for limited-edition parties).

|
Each of their evening events is based on a concept.
This serves as an excuse for the most extravagant
follies to transform the night into a magical experimentation
space where anything is possible and where nothing
matters. It allows participants to lose themselves
completely in order to find themselves anew, to meld
with others, to meet each other.
For "FLEXISPORT", the annual spring event,
they transform Batofar into a real playing field
by setting up a basketball court, tennis court and
badminton area. Because “it’s important
to play sports once a year”, participants come
in sportswear to enjoy a workout to the beat of the
DJs’ unstoppable sets.
For "FLEXIMOUMOUTE", at Le Limelight,
each person is invited to rediscover the primal pleasure
of sporting a moustache, to pull up their carpet
and make furry capes, to let their body hair grow
and don sheepskin wigs.
The recipe of this concept requires several indispensable
ingredients:
|
Music. Sound,
linking and releasing bodies with each
rhythm and melody. This is the first
requirement, a precise, carefully planned
line-up to turn the night into a voyage
that transports you to a thousand countries
and gently sets you down in the hollow
of dawn. In addition to the DJs of the
collective, whose sound wavers between Electro,
Minimal and House, the association
has already booked producers and DJs
such as Sascha Funke, Chloé, Jérôme
Pacman, Benno Blome and Krikor.
|
|
Decoration. Enhancing
or transforming the space, the décor
shapes the atmosphere and instills a
playful relationship with the site, reinforcing
the concept, giving it life and stimulating
the imagination of the participants.
For FLEXICRUISE, landscape artists transformed
the space into a tropical forest sprinkled
with starfish. |
|
 |
Images. The
VJs fill the space with their abstract or
figurative projections and illustrate a story
that changes forms as you dance. For FLEXISPORT,
they made a completely wild 50-minute film.
In this initiatory journey into the heart
of their fictive vacations, they ride horses
in diving gear, fish from tourist boats in
ski outfits or follow the adventures of a
cyclist and a prima ballerina who can’t
get enough of bowling. For FLEXIVEGAS, several
videos were created in the purest Flexibulle
spirit, showcasing choreographies of an imaginary
fan club of the Bratislas Boys. For FLEXICRUISE,
they projected images borrowed from The Love
Boat, reworked and mixed with their own personal
productions for an amazing modern vintage
effect! |
|
Costumes.With
real masks or illusion effects, they invite participants
to invent a new personality or fully embrace their
inner selves. Each person becomes an actor of the
party, a screenwriter of their own play, a director
of childhood dreams. Everyone slips into sports gear,
caveman fur, foam or naval officer uniforms… each
eye-catching outfit surpassing the next.
By mixing all these ingredients,
FLEXIBULLE unites and reveals “artists of
existence”, who sculpt the very matter of
life, who express the inexpressible without brushes
or instruments, whose presence makes everything
more intense.
Everyone can be Flexibulle. It’s
a state of mind.
